BOOKING ACTIVITIES & EXCURSIONS

• Activities are part of the real arctic experience! We offer the best activities in Lapland, with most of our activities starting directly from our resort, allowing you to make most of your time without unnecessary transfers. Please note that all activities for Kakslauttanen guests must be booked through us, only approved suppliers are allowed to pick up guests from our hotel.
• We highly recommend you to book your activities before you arrive at Kakslauttanen to guarantee availability.
• Please note that all our activities are subject to weather conditions.
• All cancellations and changes for activities have to be done at least 2 weeks in advance. Please kindly note all changes to activities are subject to availability.

LOCATION

• Kakslauttanen is located 250 km north of Arctic Circle, 40 km south from the town of Ivalo and 10 km south from the closest village Saariselkä (with supermarket, ATM, shops etc.). Address: Kiilopääntie 9, 99830 Saariselkä, Finland.
• The closest airport is the Ivalo Airport which is 35km away, about 30 minute-drive from our resort.

GETTING HERE

• Flying - The most convenient option. The closest airport is Ivalo (IVL) and there are regular flights from
  Helsinki to Ivalo every day.
• By bus – You can reach us from Rovaniemi, both from the city centre and the airport. The bus stop
  “Kakslauttanen” is 100 meters from our East Village reception. Check out timetables for buses from
  Matkahuolto website (www.matkahuolto.fi/en) and use Kakslauttanen as destination.
• By car – If you are driving, just type our address in your navigator: Kiilopääntie 9, Saariselkä, Finland. We offer free parking places and there is plenty of space for cars also in front of our restaurant building.

ADDITIONAL SERVICES
These services are not included in the room price. Please book the services in advance to ensure availability.

• Daily cleaning – € 18/day/per person
• Luggage handling – € 13/person/way
• For private transfer options, please send an inquiry to our booking office. Please inform us about your flight schedule when booking.
• Please specify the child´s age, if travelling with children.
• Firewood service – € 37. For safety reasons, our staff will light a fire in your fireplace, includes a box of
  firewood and each additional firewood refill costs € 22.
• For children under 3 years, a baby cot can be requested in advance. Fresh linen will be provided upon request.

ALL CABINS

• All cabins are equipped with a bathroom & shower (with hairdryer, towels and body wash), sauna,
  fireplace, kitchenette (with fridge and other essential kitchen amenities). You can buy small snacks and
  beverages from the reception.
• The cabins can accommodate 2-6 guests depending on the cabin type, please mention the number of guests when booking.

GLASS IGLOOS

• The newly upgraded East and West Village Small Glass Igloos feature 2 single beds, a toilet, a wash basin, and an attached shower and sauna. Beds come joined by default and can be separated upon request. Small Glass Igloos can accommodate up to 3 guests.
• The newly upgraded West Village Large Glass Igloos feature 4 single beds, a shower, a toilet, a wash basin, and an attached sauna. Large Glass Igloos can accommodate up to 5 guests.
• Each igloo is equipped with European power sockets. Please bring an adapter if needed.
• The temperature inside the Glass Igloos is set at around 21℃.

KELO-GLASS IGLOOS

• All Kelo-Glass Igloos are equipped with a bathroom & shower (with hairdryer, towels and body
  wash), sauna, fireplace, kitchenette (with fridge and other essential kitchen amenities). You can buy small snacks and beverages from the reception.
• Kelo-Glass Igloos can accommodate up to 6 guests (1 double bed, 2 single beds in the Glass Igloo, 2 bunk beds).
• Daily cleaning is provided for our guests in Kelo-Glass Igloos.

CHECK-IN / OUT AND CHANGING THE ACCOMMODATION

• The check-in is from 15:00. You can leave your luggage in the luggage room if you have arrived
  early or you are waiting to check in to a new room. Check-out is at 10:00.
• You are welcome to join some activities while waiting for the check-in.
• If you are staying in both East and West Village, we provide free transfer service between the villages,
  please check the time with our receptionist upon arrival.
• We have plenty of wooden sleighs that our guests can use to take their luggage into their rooms. If you prefer that we take care of the luggage for you, you can order luggage service in advance, please see extra services for the price.

GENERAL INFORMATION

• Northern Lights are visible from the last week of August to the last week of April but they are weather dependent.
• The construction of the Snow Chapel and Snow Igloos are weather dependent.
• Smoking is prohibited in all accommodations. Penalty for smoking is the equivalent of one night’s room
  charge.
• With respect to our guest´s privacy, we do not allow the flying of drones without the management’s
  approval.
• All our guest’s accommodations are equipped with northern lights alarms and WI-FI.

TRAVEL INSURANCE

• We highly recommend our guests have a valid travel insurance to cover any cancellations or any injuries that may require medical attention. The resort does not have personal travel insurances for our guests, and therefore the abovementioned incidents can only be covered by a guest having a personal active travel insurance.
