Summer wedding

The Finnish Lapland is one of the last true wilderness areas of the Europe. In the summer the days are warm in and the nights are bright thanks to midnight sun. In the autumn the autumn colors, so called ruska, decorate the land in millions of colors. These phenomena give your wedding a unique and exciting atmosphere.

Midnight Sun wedding

The marriage ceremony takes place at the height of 437m above the sea level on the top of the Kaunispää fell almost completely surrounded by wilderness. It is already almost midnight, but is not dark, as the midnight sun is shining in full force, making the scenery look mysterious. After the ceremony is over, a local Sámi man starts singing a traditional Sámi song, joiku.

In the evening you can enjoy a very special wedding dinner in our log house restaurant. For your wedding night you have several options including Honeymoon Turf Chamber or Queen Suite. In the next days you can go on our excursions and enjoy beautifully peaceful nature of Lapland.

Other possible venues for a wedding in summer and autumn include a small romantic wooden Tieva chapel or a bank of a small crystal clear stream.

The Lake Inari wedding

You are sitting on traditional fishing boat at Lake Inari. The clarity of the water and the beauty of the barren banks are unbelievable. Finally you reach your destination – Ukonkivi, a mysterious island, which is a sacred place for the local Sámi people. You climb to highest point of the Island, where the wedding ceremony begins. After the reception you and your guests can either leave the island and return to Kakslauttanen or stay on the island for several nights in a log cabin.
