Restaurants
There are two restaurants available at Kakslauttanen; the main restaurant, and the smoke sauna restaurant. The smoke sauna restaurant must be booked in advance and is for groups of minimum 30 guests. We also have a snow restaurant available some years during the winter season, depending on weather conditions.
The restaurants serve local Lappish specialities, like reindeer, different fishes and king grab from the Arctic Ocean. We also offer special diets, please be sure to ask us before ordering. Our speciality is charcoal grilled salmon, which is grilled right before your eyes, in one of our fireplaces. We have also an exquisite wine cellar, which has been praised by wine experts The accommodation can be booked either with half or full board or just with a plentiful breakfast.
Main Restaraunt
The restaurant in the main log building is a charming place with a nice touch of the traditional Finnish culture. In the same building there is a Piano bar, where guests can enjoy a drink or two before the main meal. Be sure to try our special Lappish drinks like Raakku, Kultakurkku or why not taste Champanskoje brought directly from Russia to celebrate your stay in Lapland. At selected times we have live piano music in the bar. Restaurant seating capacity is 160 persons.
A cafeteria, located in the main building, you can taste delicious Finnish goodies like "munkki" or change a few words with local people who regularly drop by for their daily cup of coffee. The cafeteria is open from the early morning until late evening.
Snow Restaraunt
Snow Restaurant is built some years, depending on weather conditions, and it is open from December/January till the end of April. The restaurant is situated inside a huge snow igloo and offers a full three course dinner in a very special environment. The tables are made of crystal clear ice and our kitchen is fully equipped guaranteeing you a top-notch meal. Before the meal we encourage our guests to try snow curving, which is an exciting way to find an artist within you. You also may want to have a drink or two in our ice bar. The seating capacity of the restaurant is for 150 persons.
Kota Restaraunt
In our Kota restaurant we offer an unforgettable Lappish dinner and Lapp evening with Sami people. During the dinner you will hear stories about a way of life in Lapland, culture, tales about Sami life. The combined capacity of the two restaurants is 50 persons and they are open on request. Smoke Sauna Restaurant
In the smoke sauna building we have a large restaurant where we arrange dining on request. Among other delicacies we offer salmon or traditional reindeer cooked in front of the guests’ eyes in the large open fireplace. The restaurant is also an ideal location for conferences, with our without the sauna experience. The seating capacity is 90 persons.
