We arrange tours to see Arctic Sea, a vast sea north of Scandinavia as some people call it. One of the included tours is Hurtigruten Cruise, which has been acclaimed as one of the most beautiful cruises in the world.
The cruise starts from Kirkenes and after we spend one day and one night on the boat, we arrive in Honnigsvåg. Attractions include wonderful views of the Arctic Ocean and the magnificent Midnight Sun and the culmination of the cruise is a breakfast in Nordkap.
Nordkap (North Cape) offers a fascinating view from 307 meter above North Atlantic Ocean. Climatic conditions, the dramatic cliff itself and the fact that one is located on the utmost point of Europe make Nordkap a truly extraordinary experience.
The excursion will take you to the north, all the way up to the Arctic Ocean. We drive from Kakslauttanen towards to Inari, where we stop at the Sami museum to learn about the culture and history of the Sami indigenous people. After that the journey continues to Kirkenes, Norway. Lunch will be en route. At the Russian border station in Storskog we make a stop to take pictures, but crossing the border is not allowed without a visa. From Kirkenes we continue our journey to Bykeija, a typical fishing village in North Norway. Home accommodation is provided by Elsa at her place, where we enjoy the dinner together in her "living room". You may fish from the shore if you like.
In the morning after the breakfast we say good-bye to Elsa and start our return journey to Finland. Lunch will be served en route. The journey continues along the rivers Utsjoki and Tenojoki, latter of which is one of the biggest salmon rivers in Europe. The return to Kakslauttanen is scheduled for the early evening.
A visit to Murmansk in Russia is something so absurd that you have to experience to believe it. In the middle of subarctic fell area lies a Russian city famous of its nuclear submarines and icebreakers. With 500,000 inhabitants Murmansk is the largest city in the Arctic Circle. We will make all the arrangements for your visit, including obtaining a Russian visa on your behalf. The tour includes transportation from Kakslauttanen to Murmansk, an English-speaking guide, accommodation in a high quality hotel and different excursions in Murmansk.
Now it is possible to combine visit to Lapland and a visit to Helsinki, the majestic capital of Finland. We arrange all-inclusive excursions to Helsinki with our co-operation partners. The easiest way to arrange such an excursion is to make a stopover in Helsinki for a couple of days, either before or after your visit to Lapland and let us to arrange everything on your behalf in Helsinki. The three-day excursion in Helsinki includes among other activities a sightseeing tour in Helsinki, visit to the Suomenlinna sea fortress and an excursion to see the beautiful countryside of southern Finland and its lakes.
Lemmenjoki is Finland’s largest national park. It is also one of Europe’s most extensive tracts of roadless, uninhabited forested wilderness. The central part of the park is dominated by more than 70 km long River Lemmenjoki.
The most noteworthy sight, the Lemmenjoki valley, is a magnificent section of the river stretching for some 20 km between Njurgulahti and Kultasatama, and the gold washing areas along the northwestern tributaries of the Lemmenjoki river.
We first drive to Ivalo and then along the shores of Lake Inari to Lappish village Inari, from where we proceed to Lemmenjoki. From Njurgalahti we take an open river boat 20km upstream to Ravadas falls. There we have an open air picnic or a lunch in a wilderness hut. From there you can either hike to waterfalls or take a boat. We return to Njurgalahti by boat, from where we continue to Inari for a visit to Sami museum, partly an open air museum covering Lappish culture, history and traditions.
More information on Sami can be found on the website of Siida – Sami Museum and Northern Lapland Nature Centre
