What is the midnight sun?

Summer nights in Lapland are bright as a day for approximately four months from the end of April till the end of August because of the magical midnight sun. For a month in June and July sun does not set below horizon at all. During this whole time sun floats over the horizon, casting light day and night over the striking Lapland scenery.

There are few things in the world that are more beautiful than Lappish scenery opening from the top of a fell on a cloudless summer night. It is no wonder that Lapland is often called the Land of the Midnight Sun.
